When your files become clogged, grab a little strip of brass and gradually work your way up the file, going with the teeth.
Its amazing how much rubbish can collect in the teeth of a file.
If you find that your file is clogging and causing pips to form in between the teeth, try cleaning the file, then rubbing blackboard chalk up and down the file, this can help when filing softer metals like copper and aluminium.
